In the past month, Culdesac has been part of exciting events like CycloMesa and has even hosted the very first Pedalpalooza. With so much fun biking action, we wanted to take a moment to highlight three important aspects of biking that commonly get overlooked, including its physical, mental, and environmental impacts.

  1. Traffic Tamer: By opting for bikes, you're not only removing cars from the traffic equation but also diminishing the congestion on roads, thereby improving the flow of traffic. Get to where you want faster, easier and without the stress of traffic and searching for parking.
  2. Emission-Free Travel: Riding bikes emits a mere 21 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Which is significantly lower than the 12.6 kilograms (27.8 pounds) per day that a car emits. That’s a difference of 3-4 grapes vs 4-5 watermelons.  Wow!.
  3. Health and Mental Benefits: Cycling is a go-to for staying healthy. Surprisingly, cycling can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke by up to 50%. Plus, just an hour of cycling burns around 400-600 calories, biking an hour every day would burn over 1LB every week! And it's not just physical - studies show it can reduce stress by 40% and boost mood.

Cycling offers a pathway to a happier, healthier lifestyle, and Culdesac is thrilled to play a role in incredible events that contribute to individual well-being. Where will you get out and ride this bike month? Come take a ride with us!
